ALT KSA x MDLBEAST | Building the Next Generation of Live Event Talent
This summer, the Academy of Live Technology (ALT) proudly partnered with MDLBEAST to deliver the BeastED program – a pioneering training initiative designed to upskill and inspire the next generation of Saudi live event professionals.
Over the course of three months based at their campus location is Riyadh, the ALT team worked alongside MDLBEAST to provide hands-on technical training across sound, lighting, video, show control, and event management-preparing young professionals to step directly into real-world festival environments.
“BeastED 2025 was just simply brilliant. It's a truly pioneering program which is already making a difference in our industry in region and giving an abundance of learning and opportunity to our students. We had 2000+ applications and conducted 521 student recruitment interviews for places on the program. Across the 3 months we taught 169 students undertook 629 career coaching sessions. It was an amazing adventure and we can’t wait for 2026!”
ALT co-wrote and delivered three core components of the program:
- Core Foundations, a 6-day introductory course providing trainees with a solid foundation in the live events industry.
- Event Management, a 10-day workshop that guided students through every stage of event planning and management. The course culminated in each trainee curating their own Event Management Plan and live project.
- Event Production, a 10-day workshop packed with hands-on sessions in staging, rigging/flying, video, lighting, and sound. Trainees completed the course by fully building and de-rigging a small stage set and performance.
To support the scale of this initiative, ALT developed a custom Learner Management System for MDLBEAST to handle the influx of over 2,000 applications. ALT oversaw every stage of the process, screening applications, assessing eligibility and conducting 1-2-1 interviews to select candidates from an extensive pool.
Beyond training, ALT KSA's expert Career Counsellors provided three months of post-program support, helping graduates transition into the industry with long-term goals in mind.
From classroom sessions to live-stage applications, the program blended global best practices with local ambition, empowering emerging Saudi talent to take leading roles in one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment industries.
