KV2 Audio Brings Hands-On Industry Experience to ALT Students

The session offered a hands-on experience with high-performance sound systems, with students supporting the load-in and setup before hearing a range of KV2’s small- to medium-scale passive and active systems in action. The visit also explored the thinking behind the technology, giving students a deeper understanding of KV2’s design philosophy, engineering approach, and what defines exceptional sound quality in live environments.

KV2’s distinctive approach has led to its products being adopted across award-winning West End and Broadway theatre productions, as well as major festivals and entertainment venues worldwide.

Speaking about the ongoing partnership, Tom Weldon, UK Sales Manager for KV2 Audio, said: “KV2 are proud to have supported the Academy of Live Technology for nearly a decade. Alongside providing students with a comprehensive package of equipment, it’s always enjoyable to return to ALT to discuss, demonstrate and explore our unique approach to loudspeaker design and live audio reproduction.

Reflecting on his visit, he added: “Having visited regularly since the early days of Backstage Academy, it was great to see how far ALT has come. What was once a small group of interested students has grown into a buzzing Studio-001 full of enthusiastic future professionals, asking thoughtful and insightful questions and showing a real hunger for high-quality audio.

“We’ve already engaged with alumni of ALT on productions and at trade shows, and we look forward to this generation of students working with KV2 products in the near future!”
