We want to break down barriers to the live events and entertainment industry. We believe that it all starts with better access to education.
We aim to actively support access to our courses from underrepresented applicants in higher education who need extra financial support. It’s why we’ve created a range of bursaries to support students during their studies. If you’re a home fee-paying student, you might qualify for a bursary. You don’t have to pay this money back unless your circumstances change. This money is paid directly by us and is in addition to government funding.
Please note, Academy of Live Technology bursaries and scholarships are subject to change each year.

How do I apply?
To ensure students are able to access our financial support, we remove the barrier of making an application.
All first-year [level 4] undergraduate students are automatically assessed for any bursary or scholarship eligibility through their application for Higher Education financial support with the Student Loans Company. Meaning, you don’t need to complete a separate application.
Following successful enrolment on to a course, any student eligible for a bursary or scholarship will be notified by the Student Support & Experience team at ALT and the Student Loans Company.
Full details of the rationale and evaluation of our financial support, including our Access and Participation Plan 2025 - 2029 can be found on the Governance page.
The Hardship Fund is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You can apply for the Hardship Fund at any time during term time. Application support can be provided by the Student Support & Experience team.
