Throughout your studies, our Students’ Union supports the student voice across ALT. Whether that's through providing representation on ALT committees and feedback on your student experience, or setting up societies, activities & events for all students to get involved in and have fun!
Your Students’ Union will host events and activities, support student-led societies and will organise a range of campaigns both to support you as a student and also as an industry professional.
As an Academy of Live Technology student, you are automatically a member of the Academy of Live Technology Students’ Union; however, you can opt out at any time. If you have any questions about the Students’ Union, please contact su@altech.ac.uk

Student Voice
Student Elections
Each year, your Students' Union will host the Student Elections. This is where you'll elect your SU team for the next academic year, including your Student President & Executive Officers.
Your Student President is the lead representative of all ALT students. The Student President is a member of the Academy of Live Technology Council, amongst other working groups to ensure that the student voice is at the heart of everything we do here.
The elected Student President and Executive Officer team will work closely with the Student Support & Experience team and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that ALT SU is continually developing and striving for the best possible student experience.
National Union of Students
Otherwise known as NUS, the National Union of Students exists to ensure there is a national student voice powerful enough to be heard in today’s world.
The NUS campaigns nationally on student issues ranging from tuition fees to safer accommodation and fair access to education. They work to make change happen on the issues that students care about in education and our wider society.
Your Students’ Union is affiliated to the NUS which means you are able to purchase their TOTOM discount card. Get your TOTUM card for lots of great student discounts from retail, entertainment, tech & groceries.
Societies and activities
Joining one of our societies or communities is a great way to meet other students. These groups are set up and run by students and staff, and are open to all. If you’ve got an interest and want to get other students involved, the Students’ Union can help you get a society up and running with support provided.
