How learning is assessed on Stage & Production Management
As well as traditional lectures, seminars and tutorials your learning will be enhanced with visits from guest speakers and masterclass seminars from industry experts, international case studies, workshops and more importantly opportunities to work on live projects as part of both practical modules and work experiences; giving you unique insights and a thorough understanding of stage management, operating in international markets and a range of sectors. Assessment is via a range of methods, from developing a portfolio of your work and skills to practical assessment and research projects.

Career opportunities exist in a huge range of sectors. From live music, festivals and theatre to fashion shows, parties and weddings, and international events and the cruise sector.
It is a developing industry, and opportunities are available to graduates with real-life vocational experience underpinned by theoretical academic study.

Claire Porter-Price, Course Leader
Claire joined the Academy in September 2017. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Developing Professional Practice in HE and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Emma Livingstone, Course Lecturer
Emma has worked extensively in theatre stage management, primarily working on large-scale musical theatre productions in the West End. She opened the London production of Hamilton and the original production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and on shows such as Everybody’s Talking about Jamie as well as on a wide variety of plays.

ALT was how different from anywhere I had seen before. The mix of both theatre and concert touring was exciting to me as I wanted to be able to try everything. The balance between the practical and theory-based assessments drew me in immediately.
